"Haircuts!"

About: Highbury Hospital / Cherry Ward

(as the patient),

We’ve got an issue with getting a haircut on Cherry Ward. It was 12 weeks before I got my haircut. They have been waiting for a hairdresser for over a year.   It’s ridiculous!

Hi Haircut100,

I'm really sorry for the delay in getting this sorted. We're in the process of getting a new hairdressing service up and running. Because we haven't had one for some time it is taking us a while to get all the appropriate procedures in place.

We're hoping to have this up and running in the next few months. I will be liaising with Cherry Ward on this.

Hello, my name is Jane Danforth. My role involves helping our service users, volunteers and staff to understand that Notts Healthcare wants to hear stories about our services. We reply to every story and it really helps us to improve what we do, how we do it and to hear about what works well too.

Hi Haircut 100

I hope that the hairdresser will be found very soon as the salon is absolutely lovely and crying out for some patients to sit at those fancy sinks and chairs ASAP!

Looking forward to seeing this change happen.

Jane

Hi Haircut100,

I've got some great news - starting this week there will be a hairdresser in the salon every Thursday from 09:30.

For more information on prices etc... please speak to the ward staff.

This is great news. I know a lot of work has gone into getting the hairdressing service back into Highbury and several of the patients we spoke to in the patients/carers meeting told us they really needed to get a haircut and were kept waiting too long.

It should go some way into helping people feel better about themselves. I know a good haircut can do wonders for morale.

Change made, well done!
