I have waited six months to see a Neurologist, which added to the six months before that trying other things suggested, I was very unsure of how my consulation would go. So after one year, I had the impression that a neurologist would be very dismissive and unsympathetic. This was NOT the case.
My appointment was on a Sunday (I guess to get the lists down) in mid February 2019. The building was quiet and less stressful. The staff seemed to have more time for you. My appointment was with Dr Ankolekar's clinic. The appointment was running 30 minutes late but I feel that is a good sign as it means the doctor is taking their time with each patient. I saw Dr Martin who was a lovely man and really interested in finding out how he could help me. As my symptoms are not visible, it is very important to feel believed. I left feeling someone actually cared.
I have seen many health care providers over the years and it's not often you can say that. I have had good and bad experiences with Monklands over a 30 year period and this was a gold star day. Thank you Dr Martin.
