Wanted to share the brillaint experience I recently had at the City Hospital Nottingham and my recent Gall Bladder removal on Monday, 18th February 2019.
From the moment I met the Consultant and through to removal of my Gall Bladder, I've received excellent care and brilliant attention: I'd like to highlight the key bits for me:
1. The pre-assessment in January 2019 - excellent
2. The checking in at the elective admissions on 18th February 2019 - again excellent - well cared for and was made to feel very positive about what was about to happen
3. The Gall Bladder removal itself - Sugeon, Anaesthetist and Theatre colleagues - again all brilliant and offering great care and attention - key bits I'd like to highlight and which made a real difference and added to my experience - outside the theatres they have a small waiting area and I was given a warm blanket to put over me - WOW and such a small thing that made such a big impression! The Anaesthetist - I've had a number of canulas in the past and as many people know, they can be painful and indeed irritating - my Anaesthetist used a different approach - almost massaging my arm and them moving to the back of my wrist to apply the canula - basically felt nothing and was amazingly non painful during the 36 hours I was in hospital. And then of course the Surgeon - WOW - clearly hugely skilled in what he does and it's certainly helped me on the road to recovery much much quicker than I could ever imagined
4. Post Op - was taken to Winifred Ward, where I received excellent care by the team
Overall, I can't speak highly enough of everyone I've come into contact with at the Hospital and for a procedure that I was very nervous about, they made me feel hugely welcome; cared for and indeed special - HUGE thank you and if you're going into this Hospital for an operation, you're in very good hands indeed
