"Tvt mesh and the awful way I was treated"

About: Luton & Dunstable Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

All started after I had my tvt in 2015 I was give no advice just it was amazing and it would give me back my life. Apart from that I wasn't told about any complications.  I revived a letter saying his was normal practice and there was nothing to worry about. Big mistake there.

I never was myself again after it was inserted

I had one surgery to have the mesh trimmed I had to have my hips looked at as I was in so much pain. I was still been told nothing was wrong. I was then told it had erosion near my cervix apparently this still wasn't a problem. I'd had a lot of infection in the meantime. I then had it taken out by the same surgeon at luton and dunstable in march 2017. I woke up from that operation in the worst pain ever so they kept pumping me with morph in recovery. I've never recovered  I had to discharge myself twice from the hospital because they wouldn't give me any for the pain killer apart paracetamol after the operation and 5 days later when I had to go back because I had infection. I have never been back since to the hospital nor would I ever.

My life now living like a 80 year old not a 44 year old. From the day I had it inplanted I have and never nor will i be out of pain again it would seem.
