"Surgical removal of a duodenal polyp."

Over a period of 15 months, I had various scans and camera tests in both York and Leeds Hospitals. Eventually it became obvious that the duodenal polyp should be removed to prevent future problems. This was carried out in Leeds. The surgeons and anaesthetist were excellent and I felt in good hands during major surgery. There was good communication throughout with me and my husband so we were clear what was going to happen. The operation took place as promised and I was looked after well in the HDU and subsequently ward G82 for 13 days. I was visited regularly by surgeons and the nursing and support staff were very dedicated to making sure that everything went as well as it could. The dietician was very helpful as were the physios. I appreciated being allowed out during my second weekend and I went for a short walk in the park and a cup of tea. Everyone was very professional and kind, including the lovely nurse who gave me a hug immediately before I went into theatre, when I was a bit tearful. Thanks to everyone.
