"Awful Doctor & Practice Manager"

I’ve always really rated this practice and been a patient for over 15 years. One particular doctor has always been a wonderful Doctor but I recently tried to get an appointment due to reoccurring back pain that had become unbearable only to be told they did not give on the day appointments for back pain as it’s now deemed not urgent. I was told to complete the online questionnaire, which I duly did and it kept referring me back to the practice to book an appointment. I called and they refused an appointment each time. I even initially tried going into the practice to speak to them to which I was told by the practice manager that it can’t be that bad if I’ve walked in there. I was also told if I thought it was that bad to go to A & E.

Whist this doctor is a wonderful Doctor I had the misfortune to on another occasion get an appointment with the newer Dr. What an awful experience! He is the rudest and most unpleasant Doctor I’ve ever met. A truly awful experience when you are not feeling well.

I am sorry you feel this way about the service we provide here at the surgery.

As was explained to you at several times, back pain does not qualify for an urgent appointment. It was also explained that these guidelines are given tot he Patient Services Team by the GP's themselves. At no point were you refused an appointment, we just weren't able to provide you one at a time you found appropriate. The team had tried to signpost you to other services, including the MSK practitioner at the extended hours hub, all of which you declined.

I hope in the future your experience at the surgery improves.
