I had a bit of an episode over the weekend, thought about it and phoned my local surgery for an appointment on Tuesday morning. I was seen that evening at 7.45pm. I was referred for a colonoscopy.
On Friday I had blood taken at the surgery, on Saturday, I had an appointment with the nurse at the hospital who had my blood results and took me through the procedure. On Tuesday, I had the colonoscopy, precisely a week after my first phone call. The procedure was unhurried - it took as long as it took - every single member of staff was positive, up-beat, personable and friendly, I was given tea and something to eat. The results were explained to me and the clinician took time to ensure that I understood.
I cannot think of a single improvement to suggest, I cannot think of a single criticism of the staff or the facilities. This is the NHS I am so proud of. Thank you.
