So I got taken in by ambulance at 1-2 am into forth Valley royal hospital with a dislocated knee. I had put it in by the time the ambulance arrived but I was in extreme pain in my right leg. I got given entonox in the ambulance but it wasnt helping much I asked for stronger pain killers and got refused. We arrived into the emergency department (I totally understand that it extremely busy in there I did get told there were a few heart attack patient in which is totally fine but I got left in the waiting room for 9 hours without much pain killers as every time I asked I was always getting moaned at by the nurse who was giving me oral morphine which made me feel like they didn't care about myself
I was left in a wheelchair for 10 hours in total with only a small amount of pain killers. Because there was no beds but then I was told and the other people with me was told it was because a lot of drunk people who came in after me was needing the beds. like what the hell I have a dislocated knee and can't get a bed because they prioritised these people over.myself with my dislocated knee which I feel is totally unacceptable.
It came to shift change and a student nurse came out and spoke to myself and said cant find a bed for you but I will look anywhere I can for one. She also made sure I got more oral morphine witch was lovely and she made sure I was kept up to date with information. she was absolutely amazing which sort of made me feel better. I want to say thanks to the student nurse who came and made sure I was alright and for her compassion and professional attitude
