Naturally this situation was difficult but from the moment I called Marie Stopes helpline on finding the news out to the day of the procedure I had as much support as I could wish for. The nurses and staff on the phone are so helpful, kind and reassuring. On the day everything was on time, I barely had to wait around at all. Firstly the nurse who did my scan was really sweet and calmed me down. She gave me advice on preventing this situation asking again without being patronising. Then I moved into a another room where I was asked to read an information booklet, went through the consent form and given the first pill and some anti sickness medication. As I opted for the same day procedure I was also given another 4 further tablets which I had to administer myself. I was then free to leave. I was given some antibiotics to take home and 2 further pregnancy tests to take weeks 3/4 after the procedure to check for succcess.
I am so grateful for the respect I received, no one made me feel ashamed. Thank you very much for making this tough experience that much easier.
