My partner spent the best part of 2018 on this ward.
Myself and his family had a very distressing time worrying about him but the staff were exceptionally supportive.
They cared for him extremely well and showed that they understood our concerns.
A year on I have nothing but praise for the doctor and his team for their work and dedication which has resulted in his recovery.
He himself can remember the HCAs and nurses who looked after him with such kindness and compassion when he was really ill and later how they kept him motivated with their humour, always having time to talk to him whilst doing they work.
This appreciation goes out to everyone on the ward from the ladies who constantly made him cups of tea in the middle of the night when he couldn’t sleep, to the nursing staff who often had to put up with his moaning when he was feeling low and the senior staff who, although it didn’t come to immediate life saving, did save his life with the treatment they gave.
You all have a very hard job and sometimes it must feel thankless but from myself, partner and his family we do thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
