I suffered a miscarriage at 10 weeks in September 2011. I had an ERPOC operation (surgical evacuation of retained products of conception) the same day. However, the operation did not remove everything. I had another operation 4-6 weeks later.
Again this was not successful as I was not given a scan to check the operation was successful.
I was referred again for a third time - this took about 4 weeks to get a first appointment - for another operation, but this time I was told is was not urgent and I would have to wait another two weeks. This had been ongoing for nearly 12 weeks.
For such a sensitive and emotional issue, the time taken to resolve was awful. I suggest a scan is given at the time of the first operation to ensure everything is resolved.
My doctor at Plympton Surgery was excellent in the care given.
