"CT scan experience"

About: West Cornwall Hospital (Penzance)

I arrived early for my appointment but was seen almost immediately. The radiographer was welcoming and described in detail the x-ray procedure I was about to be given. She was very reassuring and supportive during and after the scanning and answered all my questions. After the scanning I was advised to sit and wait in the department to ensure I was well enough to go home and that I had no adverse effects form the 'dye' injections that were necesary for my particular procedure, I was also told not to hesitate contacting the department or my GP should there be any problems during the following 24 hours. All the staff I came into contact with were very professional and friendly. I would be happy to be treated at this hospital again if the need should arise. Well done NHS West Cornwall.

Thank you so much for sharing your recent experience of West Cornwall Hospital when you had need to attend for a CT scan. My name is Michaela and I work within the Patient and Family Experience Team, as a team we read all feedback received from our patients and ensure that it is shared with the relevant staff.

I am delighted that you were seen quickly, the radiographer was reassuring and supportive throughout the procedure and took the time to answer all questions you had. It is brilliant that all staff that you came into contact with were professional and friendly. I will share your kind words and praise with the Matron for West Cornwall and ask that she in turn shares this with the CT team who would have been responsible for you care.
