I have just completed seven and a half weeks of Radiotherapy at Queens Hospital to hopefully treat my locally advanced Prostate Cancer. The cancer was picked up by a routine blood test suggested by our Nurse at the South Hornchurch Clinic. Once the raised PSA levels were detected my treatment commenced at the Urology Clinic at King Georges Hospital. The cancer was confirmed and then I was consulted by the Uro-Oncology Consultant and also the Consultant specialising in Radiotherapy. I was given a choice of treatments, surgery or Radiotherapy. The options were explained thoroughly for me to understand and the possible side effects from each type of treatment. I opted for the Radiotherapy.
Throughout my treatment at every department I have received first class care. I have been treated with respect and kindness throughout. The appointments have been made and the information clear and precise to ensure that I got to the right departments on time. The treatment for Prostate Cancer can be a little embarrassing but I have been treated with dignity and understanding at all times. I have received care from BHR hospitals over the years and have always received first class care. This time was no exception and I have nothing but praise for the Professional staff and the facilities throughout the Trust. No matter what the outcome of my treatment is, I will always know that everyone involved did there very, very best for me, Thank you
