"Night staff"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Vascular surgery

(as a relative),

Agency staff on Phoenix Ward are a joke.   They’re saying that they haven’t been trained to certain tasks, then why bother working on that ward.   My husband one night late December was basically left to fend for himself. He was on the commode for 6 hours and the staff said that he's got the control for the bed so he can get himself back into it. Other patients were shouting out for help and they were being ignored. I felt that all the staff we saw wanted to do was laugh and ignore the patients. The agency need to look at the staff they are sending to cover this ward.   The Trust as the purchaser needs to ensure that the agency is keeping to their SLA for this service.
