"Kind, caring staff Ward 40"

About: Tameside General Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

Dear TGH,

I would like to pass on my personal thanks and gratitude to all of the staff on Ward 40, Ladysmith Building, Tameside General Hospital following the death of my Father in Law in the early hours of this morning, after a lengthy and at times distressing battle with Cancer.

All were extremely professional, attentive, empathetic and caring. They did all they could and I do not believe the family could have asked for more; I know Ray was made as comfortable as he possibly could in his last hours.

All involved in his care are a true credit to their profession and to the NHS and I have the utmost respect for them in the difficult job they do.

I know his daughters will want to share their own personal thanks with the staff on that ward in due course and I wish I had obtained the names of the people I had spoken and been looked after by to make this more personal, but for now I feel I speak for the family when I say.... THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO. Keep it up, it is appreciated.

Good morning Stew,

Thank you for posting such positive comments at what must be a very difficult time for you and your family. May I extend my sincere condolences to you all.

It is extremely pleasing to read your observations of staff during father in laws admission and I will ensure that your compliments are shared with the team on Ward 40. Care and Respect are two of the five Trust behaviours and values staff are expected to uphold and it is good to note that the care provided to your father in law made this time as comfortable for him as it could be.

Thank you once again for these positive comments and I hope that you and your family have a peaceful new year.

Kind regards,

Alexia Charnley

Head of PALS, Complaints and Candour
