"Son treated for burns"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Scottish Ambulance Service

(as a parent/guardian),

Our 18 month old son somehow managed to climb into a bath full of hot water and needed urgent assessment in hospital. It was a very distressing time but the Ambulance service gave us advice whilst we waited on the ambulance to arrive. The paramedics were fantastic as were the Emergency Department team at FVRH led by Dr Nimmo. All were professional, caring and this made the whole experience slightly easier to cope with. He was discharged from the ED and is now absolutely fine. Many thanks to all at a very stressful time.

Dear RMN,

I was very sorry to hear that your son was hurt but I am glad to hear that he has been discharged. It must have been terrifying for you all.

Our control room staff are specially trained to give advice prior to ambulances arriving and I was really pleased to hear that they were helpful and that the paramedics were so good as well.

If you do want to contact me I will be able to pass your thanks to the staff concerned. My contact number is 0141 810 6101.

I hope that your son continues to make a good recovery and has a great Christmas!

Pat
