"Care at Home"

About: Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership

(as a parent/guardian),

My brother receives care at home delivered by Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership. For any person who receives care at home they should expect to be treated with dignity and respect. Sadly GCHSCP has not been delivering us a service which meets even the minimum requirements of the Health and Social Care Standards. In the past 3 months there has been no continuity of care. He has has care provided by up to 20 different carers during the week. We never know who is coming or when they will arrive. Yesterday his care was provided by 8 different carers. Two of these carers had never met him before.

It is not safe practice to send in new carers, especially when there is no current and accurate care plan in place. This does not respect the dignity of the person cared for. Recently, it was 11am and we were still waiting for carers to arrive. They were meant to be there at 9. 30. That means that my brother could not get out of bed.
