"Rude Radiographer in Breast screening unit"

About: Purley War Memorial Hospital

Had an appt in this dept late afternoon. Entrance is around the back of hospital and on arrival found the door locked. Tried the handle twice door wouldnt open. Looked through door couldnt see anyone. Went to main reception asked if another entrance told no thats the only one.Went back and miracously this time the door opened easily! I said to the radiographer behind the reception desk the door was locked earlier ,tried twice to get in even went to main reception . I was told in an offhand manner the door is never locked!

I repeated what I'd said earlier to radiographer. I had the same reply from her.She made feel that I was lying especially when she said I'm not going to argue with you !! as if I was a naughty child. Some Staff in this unit need some training in customer care. If I spoke to my clients in that manner i wouldn't have any.

I hope no one else has the misfortune to be treated in this way in this unit.

I am disappointed to hear that your experience falls short of the standards of care expected at CUH hospital sites.

Unfortunately your comments are posted on the page for Croydon University Hospital which has no involvement with this service as it is provided and run by the NHS Breast Screening Service.

The Breast Screening Service at Purley is provided by the South West London Breast Screening Service (SWLBSS) which has its headquarters at St George’s in Tooting.

SWLBSS uses the Purley site as one of its static sites for breast screening mammograms.
