"Private patient made to wait 2 weeks for biopsy..."

As a private patient paying for extremely expensive medical insurance I have been left in utter dismay of the lack of reassurance.

After a scan on a lump a sonographer informed be I needed a biopsy, which was done there and then, they then said the sample would be sent off as a matter of urgency.....

After 1 week i rang and no results, the office staff I spoke to said they would chase results. I rang back several hours later only to speak to a different member of staff, who was blunt, rude and dismissive.

I rang back a further time later (I am a young mother of 2 who is feeling anxious) only to be told the pathologist is away on holiday, so not to expect my results until the following week, where I am to go to clinic at an NHS hospital.....

I have since spoken to my London doctor who has said they will take another biopsy and have the results the same day - if there is one place I will never ever go back to it is the BMI ridgeway hospital in Swindon.
