I had a colonoscopy of the larger bowel and was asked if I wanted sedation, I asked if many people had the procedure without medication, they said 75% had it. I have quite a good pain threshold, so I thought I would not have sedation.
Not long after he started it was quite uncomfortable which he did say it would be, then it started to really hurt, so I had Entonox gas, this did not work, the pain was unbearable, so they gave me by injection Fentanyl and Midazolam. To me this also didn't stop the pain.
I started off on my left side and then I was told to lie on my back, I have spoken to quite a few people and they never experienced what I went through, so I cant understand why mine hurt so much, I felt as though my heart could not take the pain.
