"Well done"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Medical/Gastroenterology (Ward 11)

(as the patient),

I underwent oesophageal manometry and 24 hour ph studies

Michele was excellent at her job she explained that during the appointment i was in control and that everything would proceed at my pace she could tell i was very anxious about the situation and emotional. It took me a while to do the test as i was getting worked up and frightened but michele and gordon both kept me calm and reasuring me.

They were both very intelligent and wise in how they explained things to me to help me cope

I dont know if this is true or if its a technique used to calm patients but they both said that they have undergone the test before to understand what patients are going through that  was a reasuring thought and i would hope that all staff would be able to understand even just a small amount of what a patient goes through

I feel that they could not do any better and that they are shining examples of what the nhs is

Dear Tweet all about it,

Thanks for taking the time to provide the kind feedback above about the care you received from the Oesophageal Lab team. I'll be sure to pass this on to Michelle and Gordon who I know will be delighted to learn that they left such a positive impression.

Kind Regards,

Cameron

Thank you Cameron

I do not know how other patients cope with the test.

but i was certainly impressed and that is not easy. some people forget a kind word can go a long way and these two demonstrated kindness in spades

my sincere thanks
