Chose BMI Edgebaston as my referred hospital as it was the first one on the list and had the earliest available slot (2 weeks from time of booking). Visited the opthopaedics consultant on the 25th of October. The consultant felt that it would be better for him to refer me to a diff consultant (most likely at the Priory) as he wasn’t specialized in the type of surgery that was better for me. I was told it would take long. (He actually said days) but 2 weeks went by and I wasn’t informed anything. So I called the hospital and they gave me another number to called (ended up calling like different 4 phone numbers). And finally someone said, ‘you should get a letter within the week’. A week passed, nothing came so I called them again. And was then told that this could take up to 3 weeks. Now that 3 weeks has passed, I called and was told to give it another week. And everytime I tried to find out what’s with the wait, they’ll be like ‘I’ll get back to you’ and it hasn’t happened. So now I’m just gonna keep waiting for weeks? Or even months?
Will I still be treated within 18 weeks from seeing the GP? Because now 8 weeks has passed since I’ve seen the GP. I am thankful for some of the staff that tried to help me and the consultant I had was really nice as well but Now I’m just left here thinking how long more do I have to wait?
