Had noticed a slight change in a small, otherwise unremarkable lump on my skin.
Had no GP so, internet research proving fruitless, signed up with One Medicare.
Process of joining seemed a little inefficient: had no response to online attempt and after handing in hard-copy forms still had to chase up myself after registration period given had passed with no follow-up contact.
However, since that point my experience (albeit limited) has been excellent.
Called for appointment: got through first time and got booked in for slot in fortnight’s time (not an urgent issue so happy with this).
Saw doctor who while identifying, and being rightly relaxed about, the issue offered to book me in with a colleague with more specialist equipment to confirm.
Made appointment for two days’ time.
This doctor was able to examine more precisely the nature of the tiny long-standing growth and confirm its harmlessness; he also gave me the option to have it removed.
Both doctors were pleasant and efficient and, although I rather suspect I may have been making a bit of a mountain out of a mole(hill) with what was just a very common skin imperfection that had very slightly altered appearance for completely benign reasons, both took my concern seriously while also reassuring me about how baseless it was medically.
Overall, it was a highly satisfactory experience, with both the practice in general (once registered) and with both doctors, and I would not hesitate to recommend them or the practice to others.
"Newly registered patient, very happy with doctors"
