On Friday last I became unwell while out and got brought home, dialled 999 and very soon a Paramedic came to treat me. Lovely. Followed by an Ambulance with THREE Paramedics on board. After my assessment which was professionally done but with humour, which helped me I was taken into A and E, again treated very well and seen by a charming lady Doctor. She explained everything very clearly including the use of my GTN spray which I have needed for years, but never understood exactly what it did. Later moved to AMU, again could not fault the treatment. Only complaint in the whole place was the horrendous noise level. Had a second set of bloods taken which showed up that I had suffered an Heart attack.
As it was the weekend nothing was done except that I was monitored . I have to say the staff at every level were great. Ward very clean, food server hot and tasty. Nothing seemed to be to much trouble for the nursing and care staff.
Monday quite suddenly taken to Cardiology, a department I know quite well. Soon prepped and taken into theatre. Here I was treated with great care and respect. A discussion was held about my treatment by three cardiologists and ballooning and stent was the conclusion. Back to the recovery ward. Kept in this ward overnight because of a lack of beds in other wards. Only complaint, how very cold it was overnight, I accept that it is normally a day only ward. Discharged yesterday morning and now home feeling good.
I would like to thank everyone concerned for the great treatment good food and cleanliness of the places where I was treated. A very necessary but pleasant experience for me.
