"Gynaecological Cancer Clinic at Wythenshawe Hospital"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a friend),

I went to the outpatient clinic with my friend.

The cancer nurse specialists were brilliant and the doctors but I feel the conditions they were having to work in are appalling.

I was shocked at the condition of the clinic it was so old and the toilet facilities were ancient. The chairs were mismatched and uncomfortable. In my opinion it was dreary.

There was no facility for my friend to talk in private to the nurse and me, only someones office which was not ideal.

When she was upset there was nowhere to provide her with a cup of tea.

I also felt the clinic rooms were past there sell by date. I think it is disgraceful staff have to work in these conditions and patients have to be treated in them.

The experience was NOT good.

The doctors and nurses were also having to do their own administration as there was no desk clerk to help with the clinic and apparently had not been for some time.

It was a real shock to see the Gynaecological Cancer Patients being treated in what I feel are such poor conditions when so much money has been spent in the same hospital providing such a pleasant environment for the Breast Cancer patients. The hospital has won an award for this and for the Cancer Information Centre so why is the Cancer gynae patients area so bad?
