The district nurse team of Ayrshire and Arran health board where asked to perform wound care on my two open wounds after a stoma relocation, bowl shortening and hernia repairs. The nurses are always cheerful even when under extreme pressure, they always tell me exactly what the plan is for the current day wound dressings and the plans for the future.
Even when dressings have failed due to excessively wet wounds or movement of the abdomen and I have to call the emergency team out late at night they are always upbeat, professional and explain what they are going to do and the plan going forward.
