"I broke my leg in June and stayed at CICC for two weeks"

About: Cumberledge Intermediate Care Centre Southend Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

They looked after my mother post stroke at the beginning of the year.

I broke my leg in June and stayed at CICC for two weeks while I was non weight bearing. The staff and facilities were amazing. I cannot fault the care I received and after a slightly awkward couple of days (a bit odd being a patient rather than nurse, I was following my mum as a patient plus I’ve known some of the staff since I was a child) felt like part of a big family. The staff were completely amazing;  Totally professional as well as encouraging, approachable, kind and friendly. I felt very “looked after”

The food was amazing, lots of choice and I loved that there was independence to make my own breakfast and tea.

Now I’m back to work I can put hand on heart and praise CICC as both a patient and a relative and it’s nice to reassure patients who are nervous about how it all works and the facilities available
