First I want to mention my wife..
She was admitted to hospital in 2015. As I am retired I was able to visit her each and every day until she wa released. What I observed was that she received every attention possible. The doctors and nurses, porters and cleaners, etc. were very respectful and considerate.
When the time came, the oncologist was very honest and explained his prognosis in a way that both she and I understood. My wife died 3 days after being released.
Myself: I went to hospital for a hernia operation. Funny, I was still in the waiting area after everybody had left. I attracted the attention of a passerby; a nurse and she found me a bed.
Next morning I was able to see the consultant, who apologised profoundly and arranged for me to have the operation that day - with a different consultant. It was successful and I was able to leave hospital that day. I am in fairly good health at this time wr.t. the hernia.
Currently I am seeing a consultant (?) at ENT. As an ex-soldier who has suffered from ear problems (due to military service) for a very long time, I am happy to report that at last I feel that we are getting somewhere with treatment that may cure my current problem. I feel very confident.
The staff in the Audiology departments; I have had to make many visits to them, are proficient and sympathetic This will be ongoing, I assume.
