"Appauling care on Heligan Ward, Penrice Hospital."

About: St Austell Community Hospital

(as a service user),

Last year my father was on Heligan ward and the lack of compassion, communication and simple neglect of basic care was appalling. Heartbreakingly my father died shortly after leaving the ward and I will forever be bitter that  my  warm, generous, courageous father  experienced this in one of the last few weeks of his life. We are currently going through a complaints procedure and so I won't say any more here, but am commenting in support of the other recent experience reported here  and am saddened to hear things don't seem to have got any better in the last 16 months.
