i was admitted into GRI a few weeks ago. It was initially deemed I was to go to the assessment unit by the out of hours doctor but once I arrived I was triaged within 5 minutes and things were alot more serious. I was going into septic shock and started to go in and out of consciousness. I was quickly wisked to Resus then up to the Surgical High Dependency Unit. I was very scared as I didn't know why I felt like I was dying and in Resus got lots of tubes and lines put in neck and groin n wrist but the staff were fantastic and re assured me and speedily got the anaethenatist to provide me with a morphine pump for pain which the nurse helped me press and topped up when I was sore. The standard of care was exceptional and I owe my life to them caring so efficiently for me. Thanks guys x
