My 5month daughter has had ringworm since 4months ago. I didn't know what it was. She was uncomfortable and itching moving her head all the time and irritable. A month ago I started putting sudocream on it and get too solution. This seemed to help for the first two weeks. I however noticed the rash growing more and the set-top dried it out. Went to see a doctor in the 28th Aug 2018 who automatically presumed it was eczema so prescribed a steroid cream.
When I put this hydrocortisone cream on my daughter's scalp it made the rash red more itchy and made the symptoms worse. The leaflet inside the cream packet says it you experience redness, itchiness and worse symptoms discontinue use and go see a doctor.
This cream made symptoms worse so I went to make and appointment to see another doctor.
The doctor was cold, unprofessional, rude , obnoxious and lacked compassion for my daughters ' rash. He said he has never seen a baby with ringworm and therefore it's eczema she has i should continue with the steroid cream which is making the rash worse. I am not a Dr but I am educated too and I can tell the difference between eczema and ringworm.
The doctor completely refused to understand that my daughters rash is reacting negatively to the steroid cream and refused to give her an antifungal cream.
I left the surgery frustrated and decided to go buy an antifungal cream from the pharmacy and continue with the natural remedies i have been using as the the doctor did not help in anyway.
I am considering changing my daughter's g as this doctor gave me a bad experience.
The Canadian antifungal cream is helping my daughter's rash so far.
I am questioning whether the doctor knows what he is doing because no doctor can presume that every medication works with every individual.
Dissatisfied parent.
The lady at the reception was helpful and helped to calm me down as in was in tears from the way the doctor treated me.
