What could be improved

When asked by surgeons to attend for an operation and to arrive at 7am and then cancel after leaving me sitting in reception lounge all day on two occasions in the same week, with little information

Eventually sent to Crawley Day Surgery where they found that East Surrey had lost my blood results sohad to wait again for the samples to be sent by courier for testing making my operation another 4 hours late and then dicharging me with no pain relief or paper work. Then again after having an appointment to attend East Surrey on the 26th Jauuary to see the surgeon and physio, having that appointment cancelled as consultant not available!!!.

Thank you for taking the time to comment about your experience at East Surrey Hospital and we’re sorry that on this occasion it didn’t meet the high standards we require. Cancelling any appointments isn't taken lightly and is unfortunately only undertaken when the beds are needed for emergency patients.

We are undertaking a programme of work to increase the number of beds we have on-site and two new modular wards are opening on the 20th February. We also opened a dedicated day surgery unit on the East Surrey Hospital site in November.
