What I liked
My wife entered Grantham Hosp on Tues’ 11 Oct at 12 noon for an operation on her right leg (varicose veins). She had been anxious, not about the operation, but about the anaesthetic, and what could happen if it went wrong.
Both the surgeon and anaesthetist visited and discussed what was going to happen. They were both excellent in the way they spoke to my wife. Their ‘bedside manner’ was very good.
Also, all of the nurses were excellent. There is no complaint about any of them.
What could be improved
The only minor point would be that when an operation has been completed, then a little more communication with who ever has accommpanied the patient, would help to prevent any frustration as to not knowing what is going on.
