I want to say a massive thank you to each doctor, nurse and staff member at NICU. For the reassurance each time I started labouring with my prem baby answering lots of questions. Special thanks to...(sorry if any names are incorrect)..
Julia, Chloe, doctors - for being there when my son was born, ensuring he was breathing and stable to be admitted to NICU. For giving us time to take pictures, holding him to me so I could see him and reassurance as he left us. Also for Julia and Chloes continued care throughout his stay. You both came to antenatal ward when he took a bad turn, you were calm, approachable and reassured me yet again. Thank you so much!!!
Also to Mari-Anne - so calm, soothing and friendly in her care. Whenever a monitor went off, no panick lots of postivity in her reassurance. Thank you for encouraging us to begin cares: explaining so well, giving us confidence for us as parents to transition into our own parent NICU role. You gave us so much confidence, even daddy is changing nappies now!
To Stacey - so many firsts we had in our journey with you. we will forever cherish these memorys and milestone moments. first hold, first cuddle, providing us with treasured pictures when we were not there and his wires/tubes were off. Most of all thankyou for teaching me how to comfort hold, skin to skin and about development care. It has been so useful knowing how to position him correctly as he grows and develops and why this is important. I learnt so much from you.
Both beckys, nicola for chat.ting to us and looking after our baby so well.
And Rosie..where would us mummys be without your breastfeeding wisdom. You were lovely! You kept me positive when expressing became difficult and I have kept going thanks to your encouragement and knowledge/advise. Colostrum pack were vital for me to start breastfeeding. I will miss our chats too.
Each doctor was kind, caring, always answered questions and were so approachable. Medical terminology and diagnosis was easily understood by you all and we felt highly respected as parents by you all.
To the staff who shown us round, the ward clark ensuring we had all information, HCAs for the upkeep and the lady who shown us around. For ensuring our other children were included and felt comfortable. This extends to Spoons, for giving me support and to meet other mums/dads.
You have set the bar so high for a NICU, you didnt just support us as parents but as a couple as we went through the motions with our 25 weeker. He is gaining weight, getting stronger and we cannot wait to bring him back, once home to show you all how grateful we are our son is here due to your care and attention.
