My mother in law was on Faraday Ward and unfortunately passed away last week.
My observations were as follows;
The Drs are fantastic, they were very sincere and caring.
The day staff were ok. One in particular was brilliant. He didnt stop and had a very nice bedside manner.
The night staff were much to be desired. One nurse was very helpful to my husband whilst he stayed with his mother. Not all, but some of the nurses didn't have a very nice manner. This only changed when it was realised my mother in law was dying.
Cleanliness - Well, the ward was fine but the general toilets were disgusting!!! The floor was so filthy that my shoes stuck to it. I caught a cleaner outside and when I asked if they could clean it she replied "not before you use it". They wonder how we get all these germs in our hospitals. It because theyre not being cleanied properly.
My last moan is about the cost of parking. Between my husband and I we spent 97 hours over 9 days. £97 just to be with a sick relative - disgusting!!!
"Definately needs improvement"
