"Day Care Centre & Pharmacy"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / General surgery

The staff in the Daycare Centre were great: caring, supportive, happy to answer questions. Just as it should be. However, the chairs in the pre-op waiting area are terrible. They may look stylish, but they are so uncomfortable. I would like whoever decided to order there chairs to sit in one for an hour, as I did. The waiting was not an issue, The chairs were!

Pharmacy:after my surgery in the Daycare Centre, it took the pharmacy over TWO HOURS to get my medication to me. This was an awfully long wait, straight out of surgery. All I wanted to do was go home. I couldn't, because I needed that medication as soon as I got home.

Their systems need a big shake-out.

There was nothing the Daycare staff could do to speed things up.

Why are the pharmacy staff so slow??

In the department below, there is no choice of "Daycare Centre", so I put general surgery.

Thank you for leaving feedback, we are sorry to learn you needed surgery and that your experience on the day was not a consistently good one. The staff will really appreciate your kind words regarding their care and your feedback about the chairs and the pharmacy process will be provided to relevant management teams. If there is any more detail you would like to provide or anything you would like us to look further into please do not hesitate to contact our Patient Services Team, either by calling them on 0114 271 2400 or by emailing them at pst@sth.nhs.uk

with thanks and all best wishes
