"Palliative Care - Gloucester Ward - Outstanding"

About: Skegness Hospital

My father - Anthony - was diagnosed with terminal cancer in April 2018 with 4 months to live but with a course of radio it could be 12 months. The radio weakened his immune system and has been in and out of hospital for blood transfusions. We are now in September and he has been in Palliative Care since 7th September , I live in Mallorca and so have been deeply reliant on updates from my 2 sisters. My sisters were advised on the 13th of our fathers vast deterioration , so straight away on plane. I can only praise the staff on this ward and believe me that includes everyone. The nurses, the ladies/gent that gave us tea/coffee ( yep the ultra black strong with 3 sugars), the ladies that cleaned, the guy on reception,... everybody was so kind, understanding and so great with Dad. As I write this ,.. he is still there being loving cared for by all the staff and I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and understanding,... you guys are a credit to our world and you have all got Angel wings , it is with deep appreciation I write this ,,... We would like to thank you for taking the time to leave such positive feedback, especially at a time that would have been very difficult for you.
