"We felt welcome, cared for and looked after"

When my 3 year old daughter broke her arm, the service we received from Newark hospital was fabulous. We saw Mr Malkan on a few occasions and every time he was a breath of fresh air. He talked in terms we understood and was mindful that my 3 year old was at times shy having to speak to people who were strangers to her. He became a familiar and friendly face for us at each appointment. On returning from our holiday, we took him a thank you card and gift from our holiday in recognition of the fantastic service he had provided us. A couple of weeks later, my daughter has just received a very unexpected thank you letter from Mr Malkan through the post for the card and gift she gave him. What a lovely gesture. 

It is true what they say, people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did but they will never forget how you made them feel. In this case, we felt welcome, cared for and looked after from start to finish by Mr Malkan. A credit to the NHS and someone well remember forever.
