Sixteen and a half weeks ago I was admitted to Airedale General Hospital Cardiac Care Unit after attending A & E. After three days I was discharged in a consultation that lasted about 5 minutes. The doctor imparted very limited information regarding my condition leaving me with many questions and almost no answers. My discharge letter had several anomalies one of which led my GP to believe I had been prescribed a drug that I hadn’t. About six and eleven weeks after discharge I underwent tests but despite telephoning I still have had no communication, results or reason for what occurred. When I called a week ago I was told that a letter was being sent to my GP, I asked if I could collect a copy but was told that would not possible, my GP’s receptionist has confirmed receipt, but will not discuss the contents with me, so the only person in the dark about my condition is me, it beggars belief! This has left me concerned an anxious and has led to a recurrence of the symptoms.
Just for the record, my care as an inpatient in CCU was five star, just a pity it has been seriously let down by a the outpatient experience.
