"Waiting for Angiogram"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I was taken into Treliske hospital Truro following a mild heart attack.

The Good.

Wonderful caring friendly staff.

Comfortable ward.

Good food.

The not so Good.

Had to wait 8 days for Angiogram. No weekend working except for emergencies.

Observation.

Accepting Health & Safety and requirements in specialist medical wards is it really necessary to change all bedlinen every day? The cost must be enormous.

Nobody wants to be in hospital but the staff at Treliske are excellent and I would like to give them my heartfelt thanks.

Dear AGM,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us, I am delighted to see that you found our staff caring and friendly, the ward environment was comfortable and you enjoyed our food. I am sorry to see that you had to wait for 8 days to have an Angiogram during a stressful time.

I am replying to you as a member of the Patient and Family Experience team, but I will ensure that I pass on your comments, good and bad, as well as your observations to the relevant staff members. It is really helpful to see your story, hopefully it will help to improve our services in the future.

I hope that you are recovering well from your heart attack.

Very best wishes,

Jess

Dear AGM,

Apologies for not responding sooner to your comments but on behalf of Mitie I have been looking into the issue of the linen. As you will appreciate it is especially important that the patients here are comfortable and the linen clean to reduce the risk of infection, and whilst it might be that they don't need changing every day for hygiene reasons (in some few instances), fresh sheets can help to make patients more comfortable as they do you at home.

I will pass on your comments about the food, it's always great to hear that it has been good at what must be a stressful and anxious time.

With best wishes for your continuing recovery

Claire Billing
