"Friendly, efficient and caring service"

What I liked

I came into the Day Care Unit...from the start I found a very high standard of care. I was put at ease straightaway, with an offer of tea and then checked up on regularly whilst waiting to be called for my operation. The same friendly attitude was used with other patients. The overall impression was of a well-functioning and efficient unit. In the operating theatre, I was made as comfortable as possible, with someone chatting to me to keep my mind off things. Very smooth operation - I didn't feel a thing! Most impressed also that the surgeon came to check and see how I was after. All in all, real example of the value of the NHS at its best.

What could be improved

Occasionally it may have been useful to have another member of staff on hand, as the nurses (although attentive) were certainly kept busy.
