"The system doesn't work and is so thoughtless..."

About: Leighton Road Surgery

This new system is meant to free up appointments so people can get seen by a GP.

It doesn't work. It simply isn't fair to phone as early as you can manage and be on hold for such a long time to be told no more appointments. Many people cannot phone at 8am, when the nursery/school run is happening - and getting to work!

On numerous occasions I have phoned as soon as I have been able and hear - no more appointments - phone 111.

I had a miscarriage and needed help with pain relief - no more appointments. Just an awful, undignified and stressful experience.

I needed a blood test - needed a dr to complete the paperwork so I could have it - impossible - no more appointments.

I'll be having surgery soon - I'm genuinely worried about my aftercare, the pain relief I'll need, the drs notes for work, the dressings... I just have no faith in the surgery anymore due to this system.

Please change it - your patients should be priority and this is absolutely failing them. The receptionists sound so so stressed telling in such a defensive way 'no more appointments' the moment you finally get through after being on hold so long. It's such a negative experience and as above .... sometimes we really really need our drs and it's letting us down.
