I was admitted via A&E for abdominal pain. After an X-ray I was given a litre of saline drip overnight and oramorph. In the morning the pain had dissipated and I was as sent for an ultrasound and discharged after being told I was dehydrated. A month later I am back with the same pain and the SAU registar asking why I hadn’t been referred to another dept as the scan done on the previous visit showed a large mass in my abdomen. I answered truthfully “I wasn’t told of a large mass”. This dept. needs to get its act together. I will be reporting this as a complaint once I am fit enough to do so.
