On the 13th July 2018 I found myself requiring the assistance of the services provided by the QEH Kings Lynn.
I found myself being given a prompt appointment when suddenly I feared losing my pregnancy in its early stages.
The staff on EPAU, were kind, friendly, compassionate and explained everything they could with the utmost of patience and I was afforded the highest level of dignity at this worrying time.
Unfortunately the worst scenario was confirmed that I was indeed losing the pregnancy and that it may well have been ectopic which has huge implications to me.
I was quickly admitted to SAU where again I was greeted by kind, friendly and compassionate staff who again showed me dignity and respect during my time on the unit with them.
I was promptly seen by the doctors and the situation was clearly explained to me with a clear plan of action and reasoning behind the decisions.
Shortly after this I was moved and placed onto Elm ward where I was looked after for 3 days and 2 nights.
The staff were fantastic, even though they are clearly under pressure everyday and night. I was visited by the doctors over the weekend regularly and kept informed of my progress/ treatment plans.
When it was time to discharge we discussed the options together and came up with a suitable plan that met my needs. Follow up appointments were made promptly.
I cannot stress how thankful I am for all the services I experienced, from the ones I have described to also the housekeepers, nursing assistants, phlebotomists, sonographers, ward clerks, porters and catering staff who obviously fed me whilst I was there.
