"Could be improved"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

What could be improved

My husband works away from home and so when he has to speak to Rakes lane hospital about his dad during his frequent stays in hospital, he is using his mobile phone. He is on a contract with inclusive minutes, but this doesn't include 0844 numbers. Why don't you have a standard 0191 telephone number like the Freeman hospital. The additional cost of phone calls is making an already sad situation worse.

Thank you for your comments posted on this website regarding the use of the 0844 telephone number from mobile telephones. The Trust is sorry to hear of your experiences. Each of the Wards in the Trust does have a direct line which is an 0191 number and the Ward should have ensured your husband was given this number.

I am sorry this did not happen but if you would like to write to the Trust with details of your concerns we would welcome the opportunity to investigate your concerns and write to you personally. If you would like to write to the Trust the address is:

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
