"Total Knee Replacement"

About: Borders General Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (Ward 9)

(as the patient),

About two weeks ago, I had a total knee replacement in Borders General Hospital. From the surgeon and his theatre team, through the recovery and pain control team, the ward nurses and  the physios,   to the tea trolley teams and cleaners, I found everyone kind, caring and compassionate. Although most of the time working under a great deal of pressure, they managed to retain their humour and sense of fun, thus helping patients in their recovery. The food was good and varied, so all credit to the kitchen staff too.. MANY THANKS to all staff on Ward 9 for making a stay in hospital a pleasant experience.
