What I liked
My son (age 4) had his adenoids removed and grommets placed in both ears today in the children's ward. His room was very clean, spacious, had its own tub, shower, and toilet as well as a large window that you can open (it was a bit stuffy in there). The nursing and support staff were lovely as well as all of the other staff (anesthetics, theater prep, etc.) were very friendly and talked me and him through it all. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
What could be improved
I wish there was a toaster in the relatives' room! Seriously though, everything was above and beyond what I'd have expected.
Anything else?
I would absolutely recommend this setting/ward for anyone whose child is having a procedure done. It wasn't crowded, noisy, or too busy. You get one-on-one attention and there's no sense of chaos like you might expect in a surgical ward of a large hospital.
