"A&E and Clifford ward"

I feel extremely passionate about the care I have received in A&E and on Clifford Ward that I just had to write a review. When I arrived in A&E they had 70 patientsnin the department and they were all very busy. I was greeted with a smile by the lovely receptionist. I have breast cancer and am having chemotherapy currently. When I explained that I was unwell and on chemo she immediately spoke with a nurse and put me in a side room to protect me from infection. I then was seen fairly quickly and the staff were so professional yet compassionate. The wonderful healthcare assistant even found time to make me a cup of tea when I had been left alone there as my partner had to get home to our 3 children. I was so vulnerable but they made it a better experience for me. When I arrived on Clifford ward at 1.30am I again was greeted by smiles and shown to my room where again I was given a cup of tea and some food. I didn’t even need to ask. I was seen as soon as I arrived on Clifford by the most polite compassionate medical registrar who thought it was important to introduce himself as soon as possible and to let me know that they would look after me. I was also looked after by the ward Sister who went above and beyond to look after me, she allowed my 3 month baby so visit with my partner even though children aren’t allowed. She made an exception and found a way to get my baby in the back enterance to avoid him coming in through the ward. I honestly could not have asked for more. I felt safe and cared for. In fact I have had the most tremendous care since I was diagnosed with cancer in March. I was pregnant at the time and have had various surgeries. KGH is a fabulous hospital and I could not recommend it more. Well done! I could not thank you enough.
