What I liked
Not me treated but my Father, who fell at home and broke his hip. Lovely care right through from the ambulance to his discharge. Admitted to Maple ward at Darent Valley Hospital - very caring staff, and all in his ward area well treated. Dad was not mobile and recovered enough to cope at home (he lives alone), so (answer to a prayer) he was transferred for rehabilitation to the Livingstone Hospital. Fantastic place! Lovely atmosphere. Here Dad received rest and more physio to get him back on his feet. Also, according to him, the most wonderful food! We were told the meals of the day when we phoned! Before he was discharged from care a visit was made to his house by physios/OT's who advised on strategies to help him cope at home. He returned home after nearly 2 weeks rehab with details of a 'rapid response team' should he get in to difficulty - and today (the day after he returned home) someone phoned from the Livingstone to check he was ok! In my opinion absolutely amazing care - well done to all and thank you so much.
What could be improved
Nothing
Anything else?
Probably dealt with all of it above. After the recent press about neglect of the elderly in some hospitals it was so refreshing to find this was not the case at Darent Valley
"The whole experience has been very positive."
