I went to the my GP as my knee was painful and my leg was slightly swollen and a bit bruised around my foot. He made me an appointment with the DVT clinic that day. I was met at the clinic by Helen and Adam. Helen explained that I would be treated before leaving the clinic. After a scan it turned out that I had a bakers cyst behind my knee. I was given advice, reassurance and thier telephone number before leaving the clinic. On Christmas eve my leg had become more painful, making it difficult to walk and was swollen from my knee to my toes. I returned to the clinic via the Emergency Doctor, Helen was on duty. She was very professional, explaining what was happening and giving treatment at the same time. Helen gave me a Fragmin injection and took my bloods. She personally took my bloods to the lab and had the results for me within 2 hours. I returned to the DVT clinic a few days later, as arranged with Helen, had my leg scanned and was given the results - a ruputured bakers cyst. I must say that the care given by this DVT team was excellent and I cannot praise them enough.
